UNDERSTAND THE CREDENTIAL

WorkKeys & the NCRC

WorkKeys measures workplace skills. The NCRC makes those skills visible to employers.

What is ACT WorkKeys?

A shared language for workplace skills.

ACT WorkKeys combines assessments, preparation, credentials, and job profiling. Employers can connect measured skills with the tasks a job requires.

The National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) is earned through three WorkKeys assessments. It is a portable credential for foundational skills, not a professional license or a job guarantee.

One Credential.

Notice to restaurant cashiers

Employees receive a 15% discount on meals purchased during their scheduled shift. Follow these steps when ringing up an employee meal.

  • Check the employee’s staff identification card.
  • Select “Employee Meal” on the register and apply the discount.
  • Write the employee’s staff identification number on the receipt.
  • Place a copy of the receipt in the drawer marked “Employee Meals.”

Refunds: Ask the shift manager to approve any refund before returning money to the employee.

  2. The employee’s staff identification number
  3. The time the employee’s shift ends
  4. Your initials
  5. The name of the receipt drawer
Show the answer

B. The employee’s staff identification number. The third step tells the cashier exactly what to write on the receipt. This question asks you to locate and apply a written instruction; no discount calculation is needed.
